Report Summary

ProcedureComputed Tomography (CT scan)
SexF
Age41
Date24/10/2025
Finding(s)
Normal

Reason for the Scan

You had sudden right upper tummy pain and fever. The scan checks your gallbladder and bile tubes for blockages or infection.

Procedure Details

A CT (special x‑ray) of your tummy and pelvis was done in thin slices with contrast dye to show organs and tubes clearly.

Important Findings

  • Your main bile tube (common bile duct) is widened to 1.7 cm (about a grape).
  • There is a sharp narrowing at the far end of that bile tube, suggesting a blockage.
  • Small bile tubes inside your liver are also widened from backup.
  • Your gallbladder is very swollen (distended).
  • Your pancreas and its drain tube look normal with no widening.
  • Your liver, spleen, kidneys, and bladder look normal. No kidney stones or urine backup.
  • No swollen glands (lymph nodes) in the tummy or pelvis. No fluid in the tummy.
  • Bowel, stomach, uterus/ovaries, and lower lung edges look normal on this scan.

Conclusion

A blockage at the far end of your main bile tube is causing bile backup and a very swollen gallbladder.

Note of Concern

You likely need urgent care to open the blocked bile tube, often with ERCP (camera through the mouth) or a drain. Call your doctor now or go to the ER if you have fever, yellow skin or eyes, worsening pain, vomiting, or confusion. Do not delay if pain or fever increases.
